Start with the two guides
Most readers come here to buy one of two things: a hive kit or an extractor. We wrote a separate guide for each. The starter kit guide compares five Langstroth kits by frames, weight and price per frame. The extractor guide explains capacity, manual versus electric, and what 201 stainless steel means.
Hive kits
Beginners usually start with the 20-frame kit, which includes one deep box for the colony and one medium honey super. The larger kits add a second deep or a second medium. The 10-frame deep and medium kits double as add-on boxes.
Expansion
VEVOR 10-Frame Deep Box Kit
One deep box with 10 frames and foundations. Box measures 19.8 by 16.3 by 9.6 inches. A brood box, or a second deep for a bigger colony.
Honey Super
VEVOR 10-Frame Medium Box Kit
One medium box with 10 frames and foundations. Box measures 19.8 by 16.3 by 6.7 inches. Lighter to lift when full, so it suits honey supers.
Starter
VEVOR 20-Frame Langstroth Hive Kit
One deep brood box and one medium honey box, 20 frames with foundations, acrylic observation windows, top cover and vent. The simplest one-hive start.
Mid-Range
VEVOR 30-Frame Langstroth Hive Kit
Two deep brood boxes and one medium honey box, 30 frames with foundations, acrylic windows, bottom base, top cover and vent. More brood room for a growing colony.
Full Hive
VEVOR 40-Frame Langstroth Hive Kit
Two deep brood boxes and two medium honey boxes, 40 frames with foundations, acrylic windows, bottom base, top cover and vent. Lowest price per frame of the five kits.
Honey extractors
Manual models cost the least and suit one to three hives. Electric models save your arm on bigger harvests. We left out the 4/8 manual and 2-frame manual models, which VEVOR listed as out of stock on October 15, 2026.
Manual
VEVOR Manual Honey Extractor, 3 Frame
Stainless steel drum, 45 mm honey gate, height-adjustable stand and lid. Holds 3 frames of either size. Lowest listed price of the models we checked.
Manual
VEVOR Manual Honey Extractor, 2/4 Frame
Stainless steel drum, 45 mm honey gate, height-adjustable stand and lid. Takes 2 deep or 4 medium frames per load, so it suits a small apiary that runs medium supers.
Electric
VEVOR Electric Honey Extractor, 2/4 Frame
Stainless steel drum, 140 W motor with speed up to 1300 rpm, 45 mm honey gate and height-adjustable stand.
Electric
VEVOR Electric Honey Extractor, 4/8 Frame
Stainless steel drum, 140 W motor with speed up to 1300 rpm, 45 mm honey gate and height-adjustable stand. Takes 4 deep or 8 medium frames per load.
Electric
VEVOR Electric Honey Extractor, 3 Frame
201 stainless steel drum, transparent lid, 140 W motor with a 0 to 100 rpm speed range and an automatic stop when the cover opens. Holds up to 15 kg of honey.
Electric
VEVOR Electric Honey Extractor, 6 Frame
201 stainless steel drum, transparent lid, 140 W motor with a 0 to 100 rpm speed range and an automatic stop when the cover opens. Powder-coated carbon steel legs. Holds up to 18 kg of honey.
Manual
VEVOR Manual Honey Extractor, 6 Frame
201 stainless steel drum, transparent lid, height-adjustable stand. Takes 6 medium frames per load, so one 10-frame medium box takes two loads.
Other gear you will need
Uncapping knife or fork, a food-grade bucket with a lid, a strainer, a smoker, a hive tool and protective clothing. None of these are in the kits above. Before you jar honey, check that its moisture is about 18 percent or less. Our Bee-to-Bandage manuals cover harvest hygiene and filtration in detail.
