How this site earns money
Manuka & Wound Science is a guide site. Some links on it are affiliate links. When you click one and buy something, the retailer pays us a commission. Your price stays the same. A purchase through our link costs you no more than one made directly.
Who we work with
We belong to the Awin affiliate network, and we link to three programs:
- Wedderspoon, which sells raw manuka honey.
- Manuka Health, which sells manuka honey and related products.
- VEVOR, which sells hive kits, honey extractors and other equipment.
We are not owned by any of these companies, and none of them reviews or approves what we write.
How to spot an affiliate link
Pages with affiliate links carry a notice near the top and another near the bottom. In the page code, every affiliate link is marked rel="sponsored", the marking Google asks for on paid links. Product pages and buyer's guides contain affiliate links. Our research pages and the Bee-to-Bandage manuals do not.
What we do and do not do
We pick products that fit topics we cover, and we show real prices with the math, such as price per 100 g. We say when a price was checked and when we could not confirm one. We do not claim to have tested any product unless we say so, and so far we have not tested the honey, hive kits or extractors we list. Specs and prices come from the retailers' own pages.
A product is not listed because it pays a higher commission. If a cheaper jar is the better buy for most people, we say that.
What we do not claim
Honey sold as food is not sterile and is not a wound dressing. We do not recommend food jars for wounds, and we do not give medical advice. Sterile honey dressings are regulated products, and we cover them on our wound gels page so you can tell the difference.
Prices and stock
Retailers change prices and run sales often. Prices on this site were checked on the date shown beside them, and the retailer's page is the final word. A product may be out of stock when you click.
Legal note
This policy follows the Federal Trade Commission's guidance on endorsements, 16 CFR Part 255, which asks that material connections be clearly disclosed. If you see an affiliate link without a disclosure nearby, that is our mistake, and we want to fix it.
